jesse,

the u87 isn't important for guitar. between my good old shure sm57 and my fancy neumann tlm 103, we have guitar amps covered. the u87s would really only be a rent option for vocal tracks. not that they'd be bad on an amp...just unnecessary for all the trouble.

Jesse,

What kind of pedals have you been using lately ? I know last time we played together you were using a Turbo Rat. Do you remember that rose colored guitar that I gave to Cecil? I still havent been able to figure out what it is.. Do you still play with that little gretch practice amp ? That thing had beautiful warm reverb

Yes, I'm keeping the Gretch nice and safe for you. I had it dated at 1949, the wires had dry rot and shorted out and would have caused a fire so I had them replaced. The speaker cracked also it was brittle with age, I had that replaced. the tubes burned out, I had those replaced but the power tube burned out a second time and I can't afford to put a new one in right now. You can have it back if you want I can bring it next time we get together or send it with Nate or whatever. It is a wonderful sounding little amp. Also I saw the same year and model in an online vintage gear store selling for 2 grand. Of course that one was all minty fresh and no dry rot but whatever. Just don't sell it if I give it back. I'd cry. :(
